This little life of mine.

This fall has been a whirlwind. Since leaving my full time job, I feel just as busy as ever. As my husband says, I just can’t over commit. But, it is definitely a different kind of busy. An energetic busy.

I haven’t nailed down my what my weekly schedule will look like, but I have a great idea of my daily. I really enjoy staying busy in the morning. Waking up, general pick up and tidying, then a project before lunchtime. I have really enjoyed this morning routine. I feel productive and get a ton of things accomplished. From building furniture, to deep cleaning, to making crafts, it all feels right in the morning.

I am currently teaching private lessons on Tuesdays at the high school. I am so happy I have continued teaching. I love teaching and could never just leave it behind. I currently have 7 students – 4 clarinet and 3 saxophone. It is a fun challenge for my brain going back and forth teaching the two. My students are intelligent, witty, and fun to teach. I also get to see many students that I taught in elementary school. Seeing them grow and become young adults is one of the best parts of teaching. I really enjoy my Tuesdays.

So far this fall, I have been teaching, building furniture, crafting and going to a vendor event where I sold a few items and learned a lot. I really enjoy being able to explore what brings me joy. I’ll post more on these specific things later on.

In the new year, I plan to make more weekly events. I don’t know if that is the right word, but I want to make more plans to do little things regularly. Actually cook dinner a few times a week…right now that is all on Nathan…find a volunteering position that I enjoy and really believe in, join a class of some kind, have a time where I just give love to my pets, any many other things. I don’t know if I’ll need to plan all of that out long term, but I want to make my priorities stick.

Cheers to a wild 2021,
Jennifer
